Line of Flight

In Nietzsche, becoming, flight, klee, learning on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 4:28 am

He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying. (Nietzsche)

  1. One can’t learn to fly, even so. No matter what kind of running start he gets, or how many metaphors he employs–the fact remains. Flying is for birds.

  2. Interestingly enough, the fuite in ligne de fuite–line of flight–which entitles this post has nothing do to with flying in the French sense of the word…so it would be a matter of knowing if Joe wasn’t playing off this ambiguity intentionally through Nietzsche?
